The Anything Blue band was established on October 9, 2023 by Jim Brehm and Jon Garee. Their Vision was to create a travelling Blues jam band unlike any other,featuring some of the area’s best players with a focus on FUN and sharing talent. All five permanent  members of the Anything Blue band met at The World Famous Dolphin Lounge, home of North America’s longest continuously running Blues Jam.  Anything Blue has featured Blues Based Feel Music since its inception, which will culminate with the honor of representing the Huntington Blues Society at the International Blues Competition in Memphis in 2026. We are proud to represent the Appalachian Region.

The Players: Tom Backus (TBone) Lefty lead guitar and vocals…TBone comes from a musical family and began playing guitar at the age of 16. He has toured all over the United States with The Circuit Breakers, Destination Blues,Blues Hammer(Detroit based),Bad JuJu (Wilmington De). TBone has played with Shirley King (BB’s Daughter) and Blues Legend and former Albert King Bassist Willie Pooch with TBone and Usual Suspects). T Bone’s influences are Albert Collins,Ronnie Earl,James Vaughn,Tinsley Ellis and Stevie Ray Vaughn to name a few. Tbone’s Showmanship, craftsmanship and infectious enthusiasm are on display every single show and draws new fans of all ages into the Blues!! With reckless abandon TBone always gives fans 110% TBone lives in Westerville with his wife Heather.

Jeffrey Brandt (JB)-Righty lead guitar…JB began playing guitar at the age of 14 learning from his cousin, Jerry Johnson. As he honed his skills more opportunities arose and so he began playing with the International Hustlers, Wally Michel,Joe Yancey, Tommy Thomas. His Favorite Touring experience was the many Blues performances in Prisons across the Midwest with the STAA review. JB played w/ Willie Pooch and the Upsetters and competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis with them. He played with The Silky Ray band fronted by Silky Ray Macklin. Also rockabilly band the Odd Job Millionaires. This will make JBs second appearance at the IBC in Memphis. He also recently performed at the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Arkansas w/ Aberdeen Slim, Kenny Beady eyed Smith and Bob Stroger. JB’s vast knowledge and love of the Chess Blues Masters, as well as his spot on rhythm, lead picking,and his subtle musical references in his solo interpretations are a trademark enjoyed by all. JB currently resides in North Columbus

Jim Brehm(Breem)-Keys-Harmonica-Vocals-Jim began learning blues piano at age 9 from his Great Uncle Johnny and ‘discovered’ harmonica in his 20’s with help from the movie Crossroads. As his harmonica playing progressed so did the harmonica music making opportunities across genres throughout Ohio… ‘Have  harmonica will travel’ and did from symphonic halls Downtown to hay wagons way out yonder.Jim’s influences are his Uncle Johnny,Muddy Waters, BB King,Little Walter,James Cotton,Kim Wilson,Jimmy Reed, Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels,Angus Young and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.Jim’s enthusiasm, genuine love of the music,and friendship he shares with fans and band members is always on display. Jim lives in Delaware County with his wife also named Heather.

Jon Garee-Drums and vocals-Jon began playing drums as a child with the hopes of following in his father’s footsteps as the go to drummer for local dance bands in Licking County. Upon Graduation Jon ventured to Grayson Kentucky to further his education,and he got signed to Pure Metal Narrow Path records and began touring throughout West Virginia, Kentucky and the Great Lakes Region. After returning home to Newark he fell in love with the Blues while drumming with a Gospel Band the Angelic Voices of Licking County touring from New York to Birmingham Alabama. Jon has been a staple of the Mid Ohio Blues scene for years appearing with the top players in town. Jon’s creativity,skill set, humor, enthusiasm and quiet drive keep Anything Blues band further on up the road. Jon Lives in Newark Ohio with his wife Sherri and three children.

Dave Thomas-Bass-Vocals-Dave was born with a guitar in his hand. His Father was a local legend who played Nashville tunes throughout Northwest Ohio. At the age of 10, Dave joined his first band and has been the busiest bass player in town ever since. Throughout his formative years he was playing dances and eventually signed to play with The Sagebrush Band six nights a week while still attending college!!! After Graduation Dave lived in Florida for his job and toured the surrounding areas with a retro country band. A job promotion moved him back to Columbus in the 90’s where he started playing lead guitar for his Church and continues to do so to this day. Upon retirement five years ago, Dave ventured to the Dolphin Lounge and was hired on the spot by the host of the jam (for his personal band) as well as for the jam  where he continues to this day. When Dave committed to Anything Blue full time last year his professionalism, humor, steadiness and skill,  set the table for the Blues feasts that follow. Dave currently resides on the far west side of Columbus with his wife Cathy.
